It is the cheapest quality step available. Most first drafts contain at least one leading question or one scale that is missing a middle option, and both are far cheaper to fix before responses arrive than after.
AI Interviewer versus a loop
Both dig deeper into an answer, differently. A loop is deterministic: you write the follow-up, and it repeats once per item they picked. AI Interviewer is conversational: it reads what somebody wrote and asks its own follow-up.
Use a loop when you know what you want to ask about each item — it works on every plan and the results are directly comparable across respondents. Use AI Interviewer when the interesting question depends on the answer.
Free plans get 10 AI Author and 10 AI Reviewer runs a month. Pro raises that far beyond normal use — the soft cap is 100 AI Author runs a month, which is several surveys a working day. AI Interviewer is metered per probed response because its cost scales with study size.
Hitting a cap never touches your existing surveys, responses or saved findings. Only new AI runs are gated.
